I LOVE KIDS!!!

First of all, I need to apologize to anyone who was offended for the recent posts and blog entries... Some of FC had carried over, and after alot of prayer and searching, I refuse to have God slandered on this blog. SO for those of you who love and honor Christ, I apologize as I haven't had the moderation on, it's on now.....there are atheists out there tho, like Hover, who can comment respectfully and I fully intend on continuing to post his questions and comments. Others, I won't. Anyway, I will be a fool for Christ any day, with that said, a friend emailed this to me....

It was written by an 8-year-old named Danny Dutton, who lives in Chula Vista,CA. He wrote it for his third grade homework assignment, to "explain God" I wonder if any of us could have done as well ? Enjoy!!!

[ .... and he had such an assignment, in California, and someone published it, I guess miracles do happen ! .. ]

EXPLANATION OF GOD:
"One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grownups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn't have to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers."

"God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off."

"God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have."

"Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any inChula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church."
"Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K."

"His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important."

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time."
"You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God!

Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to
the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach
until noon anyway."

"If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very
lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but
God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're scared, in the dark
or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids."

"But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure
God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.

And...that's why I believe in God."

Are you taking a breath this morning? I hope so! Be who you are here Deb! Do not allow any one single person to dictate you! Because the Deb I know is all about God! You are fun, deep, silly, contemplative, challenging, open to being challenged, and willing to "discuss" almost anything. You are passionate about life and justice and people. Be that here too!

oh and one more thing and you definitely don't have to approve this comment as it may cause controversy. But B has been visiting another Atheist site and he really, really likes it. The tone is very respectful and all views are discussed fairly well.

But some of these other discussions we've been involved in have been anything but respectful. Almost like..."Gee I'm a big book smart, man taught me this, guy who sees a woman to tear apart!" Maybe it's my pessimistic attitude this morning...so like I said - delete this, it may be best!

I don't mind controversy sweet, it's lack of respect that drives me nuts!!!! I wasn't going to post the first one, but it speaks the truth so why not??? Loves!

Hey, maybe you've already answered this somewhere on your blog already -- do you have a short story explaining why you first became a Christian? I think it might be called a "testimony" in Christianese. I'd like to read it.

Gods Gal

Children can often speak more clearly than adults about what they feel because they say exacly what they think.

I did get a kick over:

"Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any inChula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church."

I guess I can't go to Chula Vista now.

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time."

I get this picture of God's hotline. A bunch of angels sitting next to phones waiting for the next call.

Thanks for posting the childs letter.

I love the personal freedom of living by myself.

Contary to what my neices think I also believe children are a wonderful thing.

As long as they are living with someone else. :)

Nerdiah...it's not really a short story, but I will come back tonight and try to tell the condensed version in a bit...thanks for stopping by...

Actually Ed, I like your analogy of Angels....what a cool way to look at it. I sometimes picture Jesus in my car with me when I'm driving fast down the highway (shhhh, don't tell anyone) with his sunglasses on! We have a lot of fun together.....I really appreciate your input!

Cool, thanks Gods Gal. I'll check back for it.

Okay, my counselor actually asked me that question about dark and light.

He turned off the lights and first asked what happened to the light, and then turned it back on and asked what happened to the darkness.

The answer is that nothing ever disappears, it just changes shape.

Like as Christians, we live to show the light in us, but it doesn't mean the darkness completely is gone, it just means it doesnt' overpower our life, but we must always be remember it is there. To remind us of where we came from.

Make sense?

My counselor is awesome, he wrote a book you can find online if you want on amazon real cheap, " Destination Success."

He's very wise, and after 3 yrs, I guess I could actually call him my friend, and I am proud to know him.

You come to a point where you get the stuff that has been sitting in the refrigerator unopened for 20 yrs, and once the stench subsides, you can actually start your life the way you were meant to.

I was not blessed with a Christian home, but I know I am indeed blessed, sometimes you just have to look harder into the things that are hard to see the good in.

Ya know what I mean siesta?

Have a great day:)
